Absorb the Word of God

Have we made it a habit to absorb the Word of God into our hearts? 

2 Timothy 2:2 (NIV)  And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others.  

Paul was referring to God’s Word that he had taught, which Timothy heard many times.  Truths which Paul knew Timothy had absorbed into his heart and life.    On the other hand, there are so many believers who have heard God's Word but because they failed to grasp it, or to absorb it into their hearts - it has made little difference in their lives.  And consequently they are also unable to effectively teach and impart it to others.  

Have we heard and have we absorbed?  In other words, have we understood God’s Word and has God’s Word become part of us?  Will you determine today to seek to absorb God's Word as much as possible into our lives?
