God's perspective on disappointing situations...

Updated: Oct 5, 2022

Have you ever considered that God's perspective on disappointing situations may be very different from yours?

When Moses was rejected by Pharoah and greatly disappointed, God began to reveal His perspective on the whole matter. To Moses it was a disaster. To God, everything was proceeding as He expected. Moses had not fully understood what was going to happen. God had told Moses earlier that Pharaoh will not let the Israelite slaves go easily.

Ex 3:19-20 (NIV) 19 But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. 20 So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go.

The situation will require God to compel Pharaoh through striking the Egyptians with divine force. In other words there was going to be a battle of wills between God and Pharaoh. It was going to be tough. People will get hurt due to the stubbornness of Pharaoh. But it will come to a point where Pharaoh will have no choice but even drive the Israelites out. Things were going to get worse, before it gets better.

The important thing is Moses listened to God and hence was able to re-align his personal views to that of God's.
