High level of respect for God's Word

We should have a high level of respect for what God has said in His Word. Not adding our own favourite emphasis, nor remove from it what we want to de-emphasise. Here is a story to illustrate this. A large boy ate even more than usual after Sunday school. When he was asked about it, he replied that he simply wanted to learn to pray more. And his Sunday school teacher had just taught that they needed to feast and pray. Revelation 22:18 - 19 (NIV) 18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book.  19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book. So let’s be people who are passionate about understanding God’s word. His instructions to us, so that we can obey Him completely!
