Can all of creation worship? Is it even possible?
Rev 5:13 (NIV) Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: “To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!”
I used to deal with this verse by saying every creature must mean humans in submarines, on aeroplanes and on land. But when I study it deeper, it means literally every creature will worship God. From the eagles in the air, to the mice on the land to the starfish in the sea. And they are literally singing a song of honor and worship unto God. Now they may not sing it in human language – but they will sing the substance of worship.
This is reinforced in another psalm. Psalms 148:7 - 12 (NIV) 7 Praise the LORD from the earth, you great sea creatures and all ocean depths, 8 lightning and hail, snow and clouds, stormy winds that do his bidding, 9 you mountains and all hills, fruit trees and all cedars, 10 wild animals and all cattle, small creatures and flying birds, 11 kings of the earth and all nations, you princes and all rulers on earth, 12 young men and maidens, old men and children.
What do you think?
