Holy discontent...

blog 2(134).png

Discontent can be holy when it is God-ward. When our focus is God-ward, we begin to see from God’s perspective about situations that need to change.

Isa 58:6 (NIV) Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

True fasting brings us into God’s perspective and we gain God’s discontent over unjust situations. Holy discontent is about gaining God’s discontent. Holy discontent is about having righteous attitudes towards sin, injustice, poverty, oppression, etc. Holy discontent is therefore not focussed on our own needs but the needs of others. 1 Cor 10:24 (NIV) Nobody should seek his own good, but the good of others.
