Reflections

Have you ever felt like you need to win an argument? Why is that?  
 
Prov 13:10 states that "Pride only breeds quarrels…"  
 
It is pride in us that stirs us to prove we are right.  This moves us to argue our way.  But is it really necessary or appropriate?  Is it better to let an issue slide or to keep quiet about it? 

Humility and self-control enables us to keep our mouths shut.  But pride insists that we prove ourselves correct, even when it may lead to unnecessary contention. 
 
Shall we seek the road to humility today, instead of climbing the pedestal of pride?
