Reflections

Do you realise that ideas can be dangerous?  For most people, the more dangerous ideas are usually the more practical day to day ideas that we live with.   


The philosophy that we should live for ourselves, simply choose what we want.  The philosophy of a consumer is one of the dangerous ones for us in the Western society.  A philosophy that hits us every day when we watch all the advertisement in the media.  It says, “Pamper yourself.  You deserve it.  Just choose.  Just buy.  Just spend.”   
 

Without realising it, many simply buy into that philosophy and get sucked into it.  But it is totally in contrast to God’s way which is to give, to serve, to love.  The consumer attitude is it is all about me.  But the biblical attitude is it is all about God.

Mark 10:45 – “For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
