Reflections

God challenges us to help meet needs.  But how much?  As there are needs everywhere. 
 

Here are some thoughts.  It is important to assess needs based on level of importance.  Between what is urgent and what is important.  If we fail to distinguish between the two, we are in danger of being constantly pushed to meet the urgent needs of others. 
 

Unfortunately, it is usually the “Squeaky wheel gets the oil” syndrome that occurs. Sometimes certain people with needs cry out louder and more urgently and end up getting a disproportionate amount of attention.  But if not wisely managed, can end up exhausting all our resources.  There may well be others who need your help too.  But they can get side lined because they don’t voice their needs loudly enough.  And their needs may be the greater one. 
 

In assessing which is more important, consider which leads to greater benefit to all in the longer–term.  We should consider God’s priority as we attempt to work out this balance.
