Intimacy With God

Knowing about God intellectually lays a foundation for us to know God intimately.  Yet it is the experiential knowledge of God that gives our relationship with God the intimacy. Often what we experience helps deepen our conviction in a greater way about God. 

It really helps for us to remember our experiences of God.  What you know of God.  What you have encountered of God. Deut 8:2 (NIV) Remember how the LORD your God led you all the way in the desert these forty years, to humble you and to test you in order to know what was in your heart, whether or not you would keep his commands. 

Psa 40:5 (NIV) Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare.  

Can I suggest that it is useful to write down all the different ways you have experienced God. Let it encourage you.  Especially in difficult times.
