 Why is it so crucial that Jesus is alive? One of main elements of the living hope we have is that Jesus Himself is alive! That is why there is no grave of Jesus, no dead body to be found. Bible records how it happened. Guarded by a troop of elite Roman soldiers, placed in a sealed tomb with a large rock closing the entrance. The body disappeared! Because Jesus resurrected. That is why our hope is a living hope. It is not a dead hope! Imagine if someone told you that a cure has being discovered for all kinds of cancer by a scientist. And you are so excited you want to meet this scientist. And your friend tells you that he died last month from cancer! What sort of hope is that? That is why the resurrection is so fundamental to the Christian faith. Jesus alive is prove of our hope! It proves our hope is founded on reality! 1 Peter 1:3 (NIV) Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead… What do you think? Reflections Wilson Lim 7 June 2023 Give Thanks To God. Thanksgiving can also serve to help us look forward to the fulfilment of God’s promises to us. It reinforces in our hearts that God is faithful to the very end. God will lead us to completion of His purposes. Rom 4:21 (NIV) being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.  Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have composers to write songs of thanksgiving in our church to give thanks to God for His past acts and future deliverances? In fact, you can write your own songs of praise to give thanks to God for what He has done in your life and what you are looking forward to. However, in every instance, we find the strength to rise again, pray for God's guidance, and choose to follow His path. He extends His hand to support us, helping us move forward. So, let's continue to hold onto the Lord, for He provides a steady foundation for our steps. Reflections Wilson Lim 9 March 2022 God chooses to use normal people God chooses to use normal people with personal inadequacies and challenges to be His vessels. We need to have faith in God to be used by Him despite our personal inadequacy. What are some of your personal mountain of inadequacies? Inability to speak publicly, tongue tied, awkward talking to people, some form of ailment? Fear of man? Your own disability? God will take your inabilities and change them. One’s disabilities need not disqualify. Sometimes God lets us grind through the experience. He wants us to persevere through the pressure, trusting Him during impossible times. When you face an impossibility, leave it in the hands of the Specialist! Refuse to doubt, but trust in God. One author said: We are all faced with a series of great opportunities brilliantly disguised as impossible situations. Reflections Wilson Lim 4 September 2024 The Good Shepherd... One thing is certain about sheep: they will perish if left to themselves. Jesus saw this in Matthew 9:36 (NIV) When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. 
 
 The people were wandering helplessly without protection or care, because of a lack of a shepherd. Unless we recognise our own helplessness and desperate need for the Shepherd, we will not choose to enter through the Sheep Gate of Jesus Christ.
