- Jesus showed us on the cross... | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 8 June 2022 Jesus showed us on the cross... Jesus showed us on the cross the extent which He is willing to go. The incredible price Jesus was willing to pay to open the door for reconciliation. With the price of His life and the price of sin now reckoned to Him. In theology it is known as propitiation, where Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross fulfils the perfect justice required by a holy and righteous God. It makes it possible for God to show complete mercy without compromising His righteousness and justice against sin. 1 John 4:10 (NIV) This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. The only thing left for us to experience reconciliation with God is to place our faith upon Christ and the work He has done on the cross. - Fight the good fight | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 9 January 2025 Fight the good fight What does it mean to fight the good fight in 1 Tim 6:12? 1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV) Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. To fight the good fight is more than just obtaining salvation at the end of our life. It is also about living according to our calling. 1 Corinthians 9:26 (NIV) Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. Besides the calling as a believer, it encompasses our calling as a minister of Christ. A boxer must fight in the right weight division. The heaviest go to the heavyweight. The lightest to the flyweight! So let us fight according to our noble and divine calling. Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... - How valuable is the Bible to us today? | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 4 May 2022 How valuable is the Bible to us today? In the movie “Book of Eli” it tells the story of Eli (Denzel Washington) in a post-apocalyptic world. A man charged by God with the responsibility of protecting the last remaining Bible and bringing it to a safe place. In the story it relates how valuable the Bible is to Eli and how he protected it from all kinds of violent people. Literally with his life until the very end. Eli had memorized the entire Bible and until his dying breath, retold the entire Bible to be recorded for prosperity. How valuable is the Bible to us today? Would we value the Bible so much that we are willing to live our whole life just to protect it? And die doing it? The movie “Book of Eli” subtly challenges the discerning movie-goer about the value of the Bible. Did you know that in real life, Denzel Washington is a devoted Christian who reads his Bible every day and attends a Pentecostal church? 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. - God Uses the Lowest | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 6 November 2025 God Uses the Lowest Are you lowly? Are you insignificant? Have you been despised? Congratulations! God would like to use you. 1 Corinthians 1:27 - 29 (NIV) 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. God can use the lowest of the lowest, the most foolish of the foolish, the most despicable of the despised - for His glory! If we would humbly yield to Him, God will take the most lowly of materials to mould into a noble instrument in His hands. Just as He took dirt and formed Adam. So can He will you. - How is your attitude to obeying God? | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 6 September 2023 How is your attitude to obeying God? How is your attitude to obeying God? The most fitting response to undeserved blessing is unreserved obedience! John 14:15 (NIV) “If you love me, you will obey what I command. In other words, love produces obedience, or obedience to Christ’s command is the result of genuine love. It is possible to obey Jesus words and not love Him, but it is impossible to love Him and not obey Him. Let us obey God completely because we love Him.
