Reflections Wilson Lim 5 August 2026 Who Are You Imitating? Michael Jackson was a music visionary. He was famous not only for his songs but his dance moves. Some of his moves such as moon walk or slide circle are some of the most imitated steps in the world. So many people try to sing like him or dance like him. He was imitated because people thought he was cool. 
 As I thought about how much people desire to imitate him, it made me think how much do we desire to imitate the One who is really important? How do we desire to imitate Christ Himself? Michael Jackson might dance better than Jesus but no one lived a life better than Jesus. 1 Corinthians 11:1 (NIV) “Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ.” Our reverence for God may be expressed in our heart worship and heart orientation, but we demonstrate the genuineness of our devotion by our sincere efforts to be like Him. Reflections Wilson Lim 5 August 2026 Is It Worth the Argument? Have you ever felt like you need to win an argument? Why is that? 
 
Prov 13:10 states that "Pride only breeds quarrels…" 
 
It is pride in us that stirs us to prove we are right. This moves us to argue our way. But is it really necessary or appropriate? Is it better to let an issue slide or to keep quiet about it? Humility and self-control enables us to keep our mouths shut. But pride insists that we prove ourselves correct, even when it may lead to unnecessary contention.

Reflections Wilson Lim 5 August 2026 What Will You Fight For? 1 Timothy 6:12 (NIV)  Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses. 
 As God’s people, we should contend for the faith. We should fight for the Christian faith that it not be compromised by false teaching, that it not be diluted by luke-warmness, that it not be sidelined by apathy amongst believers, that souls be damned because the church cannot get its act together. 
 As Christians, we have a fight on our hands. A fight that has eternal outcomes. It is crucial that Christians fight to maintain the purity of our faith. That we fight against the Devil’s attempts to muzzle the church and to sideline it. 
 That we fight to bring the Good News in a way that is relevant to all kinds of people in this city and beyond. That we fight the spiritual warfare against the kingdom of darkness that seeks to destroy lives of many through all kinds of perversions.

Reflections Wilson Lim 8 July 2026 Run From What Ruins You Flee says the Bible, from unrighteousness! Keep it as far away from our hearts as we know how. 1 Corinthians 10:14 (NIV) Therefore, my dear friends, flee from idolatry.  2 Timothy 2:22 (NIV) Flee the evil desires of youth. 
 We should not imagine that we are so strong that we can surround ourselves with temptations and not fall eventually. It is like choosing to live amongst patients infected with the worst contagious diseases known to mankind and thinking we will not get infected. 
 
Are you known to be someone to keeps well away from such things? Are you making sure that you are not entangled in such compromises? Are we in situations right now that we should flee from? Keep true. Keep away from unrighteousness. But my passion is for souls.” George Whitefield, one of the greatest evangelists in the 18th century saw many tens of thousands of people come to Christ. `Lord, give me souls or take my soul.’

There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it. Somebody got angry about that because it was Everybody's job. Everybody thought that Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldn't do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. Which one are we? Reflections Wilson Lim 8 July 2026 God’s Voice in Every Verse Someone once said, “The Bible was divinely inspired, not merely while it was written, God breathing through the writers. But also while it is being read, God breathing through the Scripture, and the Scripture breathing Him.” 
 2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV) “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” In other words, not only did God breathe through human writers to bring the Scriptures into reality. But God continues to breathe through the Scriptures to impact the reader. There is an anointing that flows from the Scriptures because it is so full of God. 
 
Do we sense God’s breathe every Sunday when we listen to God’s Word? Do we sense God’s breathe every day when we read God’s Word?
