- Available to God. | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 7 June 2023 Available to God. Availability is crucial in building healthy relationships. We need to be present for relationships to develop. God Himself has promised to be with us, to be available. 1 Timothy 2:13 (NIV) if we are faithless, he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. God has made Himself readily available because He recognises that it is a very important element in relationship building. The question is, are you making yourself available to build your relationships with God? Are you available to listen when God is speaking to you or trying to get your attention? - Promises from Scripture... | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 9 November 2022 Promises from Scripture... Have you ever found God reminding you of some promises from Scripture? Why do you did God recall the promises in Ex 6:6-8 to Moses? It was to rebuild their conviction in God who is faithful to His promises. God has sworn an oath upon his own sacred name that He will do what He has promised. Isa 46:11 (NIV) From the east I summon a bird of prey; from a far-off land, a man to fulfill my purpose. What I have said, that will I bring about; what I have planned, that will I do. To rebound we must rebuild our confidence in God. Heb 10:35 (NIV) So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. Let your convictions be rebuilt upon the assurances of those promises. Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... - How valuable is the Scriptures to us? | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 5 June 2024 How valuable is the Scriptures to us? How valuable is the Scriptures to us? God has provided us His Word in order to help us to understand His ways and to live according to it. The Scriptures contains not the wisdom of man but the wisdom of God. 2 Timothy 3:16 - 17 (NIV) 16All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Warren Buffett is probably the one of the most successful, if not the most successful investor in the world. He is the second or third wealthiest man in the world. So legendary is his skills in investment that people have paid up to $2 million to charity, just to lunch with him. God is far wiser than Warren Buffet. God who is all knowing, who is all wise has chosen to reveal some of His wisdom to us through His Word. Rather than pay $2 million to lunch with Warren Buffet, I rather put my life trusting in God’s Word. A better investment of my life. - God does not leave us... | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 6 November 2025 God does not leave us... God does not leave us, or abandon us during difficult times. Rather, it is through the strength of our relationship with Him that we become more like Jesus who overcame the world. 1 John 5:4 - 5 (NIV) 4for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 5Who is it that overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God. The great victory we will gain in such times is our faith in God. Ironically, it is the same thing that many throw away during difficult times. Our assurance is that if we hold on to our faith in God, and don’t fall into bitterness or doubt, God will actually strengthen us at the time and manner that we need it! It is reflected from inside out, not just looking good on the outward. God desires us to pursue Him and reflect His glory all over the world. You are called a people after God. He is building His glorious church! Matt 5:14-16(NIV) 14“You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. - When we give of our tithes, God is pleased... | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 2 August 2023 When we give of our tithes, God is pleased... When we give of our tithes, God is pleased because we obeyed His commands and honour Him. When we give of freewill offerings, God is extra pleased because we gave out of the abundance of our hearts. While Eric Hulstrand of Binford, North Dakota, was preaching one Sunday, an elderly woman, Mary, fainted and struck her head on the end of the pew. Immediately, an EMT in the congregation called an ambulance. As they strapped her to a stretcher and got ready to head out the door, Mary regained consciousness. She motioned for her daughter to come near. Everyone thought she was summoning her strength to convey what could be her final words. The daughter leaned over until her ear was at her mother's mouth. "My offering is in my purse," she whispered. How is that for dedicated giving? Where is our hearts today? 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 NIV Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. - Jesus is the centre of the master plan | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 1 February 2024 Jesus is the centre of the master plan From the very beginning God designed us to be vessels of His glory, that we should reflect and contain His glory. As Scriptures state in Gen 1:26 (NIV) Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, …” Mankind was meant to multiply forth and fill the whole earth with God’s glory. But Adam and Eve mucked up and we have been filling it with sin every since. Man became filled with violence, strife, hatred, murder. God designed us to be vessels of glory, but we became vessels of folly. But God has His plan of redemption ready. Jesus is the centre of the master plan. Through Jesus, God is redeeming us back to God’s original objective. To be vessels of His glory. - Self-Love vs. God’s Love | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 5 March 2025 Self-Love vs. God’s Love It is good when we are able to love ourselves. Yet such love can be distorted too. 2 Timothy 3:1-2 (NIV) 1 But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 People will be lovers of themselves… Here, the self-love is overboard. It is not about having a healthy self-esteem but a love centred upon oneself. A love that elevates self above God and the things of God! It is a misdirected love. When we direct our love to ourselves, over God – we begin to act out of self-will rather than towards God’s will. And that is how Adam and Even fell. Because they believed that they too can be as God and acted out of self-love. The danger in some churches today is to over-emphasise on gaining a positive self-image, having a love for oneself, etc but neglect to have it anchored upon a love for God. Some claim that it is not possible to love God without first loving himself rightly. Yet self-love is best gained through experiencing God’s love. For God’s love demonstrates true love as it should be. It is when we experience love shown to us, it is when we discover how valuable we are to God, that we begin to love ourselves rightly.
