Reflections Wilson Lim 5 October 2022 God's promises... Have you ever had a clear sense that God has given you some promises? Perhaps from the Scriptures? Or from prophecy? Exodus 6:6-8 (NIV) 6 "Therefore, say to the Israelites: 'I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. 7 I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the LORD your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. 8 And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the LORD.'" God reminded Moses that He had promised to deliver the people from the Egyptian oppression. That He will prove He is with them. That He will bring them to the Promised Land. It is crucial to recall the key promises that God may have given us. Either through the Scriptures, through the Holy Spirit or through prophetic words. It is important that we write down the prophetic words or the burdens and visions that God had given us. So that we can remind ourselves clearly one day. We have our prophetic words written down - so that we may revisit them at a later time. Writing them down makes it clearer and allows us to assess them over time. If we do not hear properly, we will not be able to respond to God properly. The problem is this. Too many people are presumptuously doing what they think God wants done, but not actually hearing God first! John 10:27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. One of the keys that help us step out of the survival mode is when we recognise that God’s favour is upon us. Because we know that God is going to help us. He is going to open doors. King David had such deep assurance when he was faced with battles. Psalms 3:6 - 7 (NIV) 6 I will not fear the tens of thousands drawn up against me on every side. 7 Arise, O LORD!  Deliver me, O my God!  Strike all my enemies on the jaw; break the teeth of the wicked. Psalms 91:1 - 2 (NIV) 1He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. 2I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. When we have a fresh purposes beating in our hearts. Reflections Wilson Lim 1 February 2024 Near enough is good enough? If we are to get our obedience to God right, we need to get the details right. We need to be Spirit-led and Spirit-empowered. Often, God does not spell out all the details but when we are Spirit-led and empowered, we will get the details right. Exodus 31:2 - 3 (NIV) 2“See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,  3and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts—  Exodus 31:6 (NIV) 6Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given skill to all the craftsmen to make everything I have commanded you:  God spelt out many details for the tabernacle but not all. Yet He empowered the craftsman to interpret God’s intention with creativity and to get it right. The detail we go to shows our attitude. Is your attitude: “Near enough is good enough” when serving God?  Are you facing some really tough situations? We may not see light at the end of the tunnel because of our human limitations but God can see way beyond every impossibility. Every man’s perceived impossibility is God’s opportunity to act. Mark 10:27 Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” The key is would we choose to have faith in God in such occasions? Prolonged discouragement paralyzes faith in God. Doubt is the polio of faith! We must seek to cast away doubt from our hearts and instead have faith in God. Reflections Wilson Lim 4 January 2023 Would you trust God to lead you? Would you trust God to lead you? Consider this. God is omniscient. He is all-knowing. Heb 4:13 (NIV) Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. God understands everything hence he understands about the times and seasons, the circumstances that we are in. Job 37:16 (NIV) Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who is perfect in knowledge? God’s knowledge is perfect. God knows everything about every factor that affect a situation and He understands exactly how it will affect the situation. In other words, He knows all there is to know about a situation. Because God knows and fully understands the circumstances we are in, He alone knows the best way to proceed. Will you trust Him to lead you through it? Reflections Wilson Lim 3 April 2024 Replace God with the Big Bang There are ideas that people propagate that actually undermine our faith. It is ideas and philosophies that is a tool of the Enemy to attack the faith of believers. Often such ideas try to undermine the very basis of the existence of God. For example, various scientists and philosophers try to argue the case that God is not needed to create this universe. They try to replace God with the Big Bang. 
 
 Yet the Bible tells us that creation is intended to speak of God. Romans 1:20 (NIV) For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. But those who refuse to believe in God had sought to explain away God by their own theories. Don't be tripped up by their error.
