  • So if we are wealthy... | Wilson & Lai Ling

Reflections Wilson Lim 8 May 2024 So if we are wealthy... So if we are wealthy, how then should we live? 1 Timothy 6:18 (NIV)  Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. The rich are to be commanded to be rich in good deeds. They are to make use of their wealth generously to bless others. Why? Because we must understand that we are merely stewards of all we have. That we may use it wisely for His glory and for His kingdom. In the end, God will not measure how much wealth you generated. But how much of your wealth did you use faithfully to bring glory to God. • Many challenges... | Wilson & Lai Ling

Reflections Wilson Lim 5 July 2023 Many challenges... Consider this. In life, we are faced with all kinds of challenges. The stress of navigating life and dealing with the all the unknowns waiting to pounce at us. Whether it be our health situation. Whether it be the security of our career or income. Whether we find the right partner. Our future. Daily life itself throws up many challenges. How to deal with difficulties in relationships. How to deal with our own emotions. How to make decisions in major areas. The pressures at work. Let alone when crisis pops up of nowhere. We were never meant to navigate all of life’s challenges by ourselves. This is why we need God our Creator. God who is all-knowing, all-wise, all-powerful. He can help us through what we really struggle to work through. Perhaps the big question in the mind of some is, will He? Well, the great assurance to us is that God’s heart of that of a shepherd. John 10:11 (NIV) "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Let's come to the good shepherd today. Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... • When we reject or fail to seek God... | Wilson & Lai Ling

Reflections Wilson Lim 6 July 2022 When we reject or fail to seek God... When we reject or fail to seek God, that is when we miss out on His blessings. Even just a little here, a little there – it can unravel us. Proverbs 6:10 - 11 (NIV) 10 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— 11 and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man. For example, in 2011 much of the Brisbane CBD was flooded due to the release of excess water from the Wivenhoe Dam as it was at risk of exceeding its maximum capacity during an intense wet season. There has been an enquiry made into how the Wivenhoe Dam was managed. The issue were whether the engineers managing the dam could have helped to avoid/minimise the flood. Perhaps if they were listening to God’s wisdom, they might have been able to release more water gradually out of the dam earlier rather than a huge release at a critical juncture, and spared much inundation of homes and the city. What a pity when we choose our way and live life missing out on the abundant blessings God has promised and destined us for. • Honour the elderly | Wilson & Lai Ling

Reflections Wilson Lim 6 March 2024 Honour the elderly In any relationship, there needs to be mutual love and respect especially in respect to those older than us. Showing proper respect is not an Eastern Culture quality alone but is thoroughly biblical. Leviticus 19:32 (NIV) Rise in the presence of the aged, show respect for the elderly and revere your God. I am the LORD. Did you notice that God put in the same sentence the honouring of the elderly with the revering of God? By honouring the elderly, we are revering God and His ways. If we revere God, we would honour the elderly. Afterall, God is the infinitely elderly.
In fact, so strongly does God view the importance of honouring the elderly and our parents, He puts a curse on those who dishonour their parents. Duet 27:16 (NIV) Cursed is the man who dishonors his father or his mother. Let's always show proper honour to the elderly. • God Sees the Heart | Wilson & Lai Ling

Reflections Wilson Lim 2 April 2025 God Sees the Heart We may do what seems the right thing but what matters most is whether our hearts are in the right place before God. God warned in Old Testament times that even the very ceremonies that God required would become offensive to Him. Isaiah 66:3 (NIV) But whoever sacrifices a bull is like one who kills a man, and whoever offers a lamb, like one who breaks a dog’s neck; whoever makes a grain offering is like one who presents pig’s blood, and whoever burns memorial incense, like one who worships an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their souls delight in their abominations; This occurs when we have chosen in our hearts to go our own ways, rather than God's ways. When we inwardly rebel though outwardly we may still do what seem right. May we always watch our hearts before God!
