- Our worship is never meant to be remain quiet... | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 8 May 2024 Our worship is never meant to be remain quiet... Our worship is never meant to be remain quiet and private. Ps 98:4 (NIV) Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music. Rather we are to shout for joy and to burst forth into jubilant song. When you want to wake up somebody who is sleeping soundly, you do not tiptoe quietly and whisper to them, “Wake up”. You shout, “Wake Up! Jeff!” like in the Wiggles famous act. In the same way, when you want to awaken worship in our hearts, you do not tiptoe and whisper. You stir it, you stimulate it, you revive it. You give it a shot in the arm! Wake up your soul and spirit to worship! Ps 57:8 (NIV) Awake, my soul! Awake, harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn. So when you come to worship God, it does not help if you are quiet, subdued, reticent in your worship. - Rebound in our faith | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 2 February 2022 Rebound in our faith How can we rebound in our faith after our faith have been through a wringer? Part of the key is by returning to God, it is crucial to reconnect with God. Just like the rechargeable batteries we use to operate our mobiles. After using it for some time, it gets run down. It needs to be recharged. The batteries need to be reconnected to a power source. Our spiritual energies, our faith level can get run down after some disappointments. It needs to be recharged. We need to reconnect to God. Get down on our knee and cry out to God. Sometimes, that might feel like the hardest thing to do. Throughout the Bible we find godly leaders reconnecting with God after seasons of disappointments, even disasters. 1 Sam 30:6 (NIV) David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the LORD his God. David overcame his despair because he connected with God. Unless we reconnect, we do not allow God to help us work through our disappointments. When we reconnect, God will bring us through the tough seasons and we will come out stronger. Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... - Are we living in adultery? | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 5 June 2025 Are we living in adultery? Are we living in adultery? Are we not realising it? James 4:4 (NIV) You adulterous people, don't you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. The values of this world is in opposition to God. Because the world system is under the influence of the Devil. If we choose the world's values, we choose the values of the Devil. God cannot accept that. Many do not realise that or do not want to accept that. When we are married we must remain faithful to our spouse. If a married man has an affair with another woman - it is adultery. That's why God considers it adultery when we have an affair with this world. Is it just possible that we are living in spiritual adultery today? Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... - God can use the lowest of the lowest | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 5 June 2025 God can use the lowest of the lowest Are you lowly? Are you insignificant? Have you been despised? Congratulations! God would like to use you. 1 Corinthians 1:27 - 29 (NIV) 27 But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. 28 He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are, 29 so that no one may boast before him. God can use the lowest of the lowest, the most foolish of the foolish, the most despicable of the despised - for His glory! If we would humbly yield to Him, God will take the most lowly of materials to mould into a noble instrument in His hands. Just as He took dirt and formed Adam. So can He will you. - Seeking God's Wisdom | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 9 January 2025 Seeking God's Wisdom A humbling thought from Scripture that made me pause to consider my own wisdom. 1 Corinthians 3:18 - 20 (NIV) 18 Do not deceive yourselves. If any one of you thinks he is wise by the standards of this age, he should become a “fool” so that he may become wise. 19 For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: “He catches the wise in their craftiness”; 20 and again, “The Lord knows that the thoughts of the wise are futile.” God help me not to be filled with worldly wisdom, nor my own wisdom. But rather let me seek God's wisdom. May I be willing to humble myself even to be a fool by the world's standards, in order that I may be wise in God.Seeking God's Wisdom Facebook X (Twitter) WhatsApp LinkedIn Pinterest Copy link Recent Posts See All God does not leave us... - Sometimes, our past can constrain us | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 3 August 2022 Sometimes, our past can constrain us Exodus 4:19 (NIV) Now the LORD had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead. Moses was once a star in Egypt, a prince. He ended up a lowly shepherd in the backside of the desert. His life was stuck in limbo because of his fear of being caught by Pharaoh. He could not move forward for 40 years because of his fear. Sometimes, our past can constrain us from moving forward in certain areas of our lives. Fears developed in our past can cause us to avoid certain situations or people. My fear of heights would have caused me to avoid being in tall buildings, or at least looking out from tall structures. I would have missed out on some incredible experiences if I did not overcome it. Are you missing out because of some fear from the past? - Grow in our relationship with God | Wilson & Lai Ling
Reflections Wilson Lim 7 September 2022 Grow in our relationship with God I came to realise that the deepest convictions we could ever develop in our journey of faith is through our relationship with God Himself. Often, we trust the people we know well, so will we trust the God we know well. Often, we trust the people who have proven themselves to us, so will we trust the God who has proven Himself to us in our experience. Hence, a key to growing deeper in our convictions is to determine to grow in our relationship with God. How determined are you? James 4:8a (NIV84) Come near to God and he will come near to you.
